Terms of Service
Last updated: May 14, 2026
1. The agreement
These terms apply when you purchase or use ScreenLock, a macOS utility published by KERIGAMI LLC ("we", "us"). By installing or using ScreenLock, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't install or use ScreenLock.
2. License
Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use ScreenLock on Macs you own or primarily use. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer (except where permitted by law), or remove proprietary notices.
You may install ScreenLock on multiple Macs that you personally own or primarily use, with no per-device limit. The license is per-person, not per-device.
3. Purchases and payments
Purchases are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd as the Merchant of Record. By purchasing, you also agree to Paddle's terms at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
Prices are shown in US dollars and may exclude taxes that Paddle adds at checkout based on your jurisdiction.
4. Refunds
If ScreenLock isn't for you, request a refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing hello@screenlock.app. We'll process the refund via Paddle. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.
5. Updates
Updates within the current major version (e.g. 1.x → 1.y) are free for license holders. A future major version (e.g. 2.0) may require a paid upgrade. We don't promise any specific feature, update cadence, or compatibility with future macOS releases.
6. No warranty
ScreenLock is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that ScreenLock will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.
ScreenLock is intended as a convenience tool, not a security or supervision product. It does not prevent a determined user from quitting the app, restarting the Mac, or otherwise regaining control. Don't rely on ScreenLock as the sole means of protecting sensitive data or supervising a child.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KERIGAMI LLC's total cumulative liability arising out of or related to your use of ScreenLock will not exceed the amount you paid for the license. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages.
8. Termination
You may stop using ScreenLock at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate the license if you materially violate these terms.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version. Continued use of ScreenLock after a change constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in that state.
